Lisa Cullina owner Footwise Podiatry Clinic Galway - Reflexology & Chiropody

Lisa Cullina B.Sc. (Hons) Podiatric Medicine, MChSI, MNRRI.

I set up my own reflexology clinic after becoming qualified in classical reflexology in 2011. With a strong interest in the medical conditions of the feet, this led me to discover podiatry. I went back to collage as a mature student and I trained in the National University of Ireland Galway in Podiatric Medicine specialising in diagnosing and treating abnormal conditions of the lower limb and foot. With the combination of reflexology and podiatry, I can work with my patients post-surgery to eliminate joint stiffness and promote healing. Reflexology also influences circulation during the recovery process following a foot injury or surgery.
I am trained in podiatric acupuncture and biomechanics of the foot and ankle. Through these assessments I am able to advise on strengthening and stretching exercises as well as prescribe orthotics which help to realign your foot and body posture. Orthotics can also be helpful for foot pain, arch or heel pain (Plantar Fasciitis), Leg or knee pain (Shin Splints), Lower back pain, Bunions or toe deformities and reoccurring calluses or corns.
I have a very keen interest in nail conditions and happy to say that in the clinic I can provide nail bracing solutions for ingrown nails and reconstruction for damaged nails along with fungal nail care.

Eva Baumann B.Sc. (Hons) Podiatric Medicine, MChSI, MNRRI.

My name is Eva and I recently graduated with an honors degree in Podiatric Medicine from the University of Galway. As part of my undergraduate degree, I have gained experience in a variety of settings and clinical specialties. These most notably include routine chiropody, musculoskeletal assessment, orthotic prescription and diabetic wounds.
My podiatric experience spans both the public and private sector, having completed placement periods in Merlin Park Podiatry Clinic, University Hospital Galway, St. James’s Hospital and in private practice, in Dublin and at home in Galway

Immediately after graduating, I spent 2 months volunteering with a charity, providing life saving footcare to the rural communities of Tanzania. Here, I dealt with diabetic wounds, wounds caused by HIV, Leprosy and burns. This was an incredibly rewarding experience, and provided me with a unique insight into the challenges faced by those outside of our emerald isle.

My healthcare experience also includes working as a healthcare assistant in nursing homes, a home carer and volunteering as a covid tester throughout the pandemic.

Each of these roles require genuine care, empathy and understanding, all of which are some of my key attributes. I was originally drawn to podiatry because of the difference podiatrists can make to a person’s life. The care we provide can be both life changing, and life saving.
I also loved the range of sub specialties, for example, the musculoskeletal side, which is one I have found myself drawn to since finishing my degree. I have a particular interest in assessing and diagnosing pain in the lower limb, and enjoy seeing patients progress, eventually getting back to the activities they love.

Outside of feet, I love to travel, do yoga and spend time with my dog, Manuel.

I am delighted to join the team at Footwise Podiatry. I look forward to meeting the patients and improving their podiatric health in any and every way I can
